Teri Hallman
Terri
Hallman was born in 1962 and raised in a
small town in Wisconsin. She attended the
Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where
she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. While
working in the design field, she won two
international awards for Packaging Design.
Hallman's dry pigment work is the result
of an unusual , well honed creative process
that has evolved naturally over the years.
Each piece demands the artist's unconditional
focus throughout a laborious process of
color layering, masking and scraping. The
creative pace is intense; the result is
super-saturated hues and curiously crude
textures. On the surface, the work may appear
simple, yet there is considerable emotional
depth inherent in the artist's multi-layered
approach.
